Marsela came into the shelter with a severe infection in her leg that has spread to the bone. She hasn’t been allowed out of her kennel the entire time she’s been there—until a kind volunteer recently took her out for photos and video. Despite everything she’s been through, Marsela’s gentle, loving nature shone through.
Her infection is spreading rapidly, and she needs immediate medical attention. She may require an IV treatment, and her leg must be treated urgently to save her life. If we can raise enough pledges, a rescue is ready to step in, provide the care she desperately needs, and get her out of the shelter.
Marsela has been through so much, but she is still so precious. With proper care, she can heal and become the most devoted, darling companion to a loving family.

At 50 lbs, he is a little underweight and has a slight nervousness at times so he can benefit from some confidence building. Everyone at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center has fallen in love with Toasty. He is a 7 year old Pitbull weighing 37 pounds, who came in as a stray on October 11th and has stolen all of our hearts.
His medical states: possible ear infections,fly strikes, heart valve
disease vs cardiomyopathy, skin sensitivities, old injury to left
lower canine. Radiographs showed lucency of right femoral neck, possible
old fracture, legg-calve-perthes
disease. Left hip also appears suspicious for possible fracture or
avascular necrosis of femoral neck-open. Despite all of his medical,
this boy is full of LOVE!!

10 year male old english sheepdog LUCKY arrived October 19th and is ready to go home!!! A5103673 Poor Lucky (#A5103673),
a 10 YO, 58.6 lbs Old English Sheepdog, has been surrendered to the
shelter in heartbreaking condition.😭 This sweet soul was returned to
the very place he thought he’d left behind for good (I guess he’s not so
Lucky after all).💔 His intake notes paint a devastating picture:
matted and unkempt coat, an ulcerated mass on his back with discharge, a
palpable mass on his rear leg, severe dental tartar, and possible basal
cell tumors, lipomas, or even sarcomas. Yet, through it all, Lucky has
remained gentle, happy, and incredibly friendly.Despite the neglect he’s
endured, Lucky greeted his volunteers, Cheryl and Lor, with warmth and
joy, relishing his time roaming the yard. But now, this precious boy
sits in the shelter, waiting for someone to see beyond his medical needs
and recognize his unwavering spirit and heart.Lucky doesn’t deserve to
spend his golden years in a cold, lonely kennel. He deserves to be

10 month male domestic shorthair TOMMY arrived October 21st and is ready to go home!!! A5659154 
Tommy is a handsome young feline who arrived at the Care Center as a stray on October 21. He was a little scruffed up from probably roughing it for a while, so the Care Center has been treating him. Tommy’s adopter may want to take him to a personal vet to see if any further treatment is needed. Tommy is such a nice kitty. He deserves to have a permanent, loving home where he’s safe and well taken care of. He’s still basically a kitten at 11 months, so we’re certain his playful side will come out if he’s provided with some fun toys to play with.

She absolutely loves people and acts like she has never met a stranger. His medical states: possibly missing some front dentition causing tongue to protrude from oral cavity at rest, overweight. The Care Center is located at 4275 Elton Street in California. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11 to 5.

- loves to get out of his kennel and explore the yard
- should not be left alone outside for long periods since dogs like this get bored and may jump a fence to find some fun
- about 3 years and 60 pounds
- medium energy level, settles down after he gets to run around a bit
