Baldwin Park CA: KODIAK IS A 13-YR OLD SR SHEP/CHOW LOOKING MIX (100 LBS) THAT NEEDS A LOVING HOME OR RESCUE TO SAVE HIM FROM THE BALDWIN PARK SHELTER

KODIAK IS A 13-YR OLD SR SHEP/CHOW LOOKING MIX (100 LBS) THAT NEEDS A LOVING HOME OR RESCUE TO SAVE HIM FROM THE BALDWIN PARK SHELTER - GOOD BEHAVIOR NOTES WITH PEOPLE & OTHER DOGS!

KODIAK - ID #A5385060

Baldwin Park Shelter, Baldwin Park, So Cal

This sweet, 100 lb boy Kodiak (probably mixed with shepherd but has some chow too, due to black tongue) was surrendered to the high kill Baldwin Park shelter due to his age.

We have his positive shelter behavior assessment, here are some of his highlights:
With people, “He was easy to leash and remove from the kennel, walked nicely on leash, and was easy to collar… He allowed the handler to pet his head, neck, and back with no issues. He stood by the handler's side with soft eyes, an open pant, a neutral tail, and a relaxed body.”
With other dogs, “He entered the yard slowly, and exchanged appropriate greetings with the other dogs.
He was very tolerant when one of the other dogs began to mount him, and offered strong but
appropriate corrections when necessary. He roamed the yard on his own, but remained friendly with the other dogs when he came across them. He laid in the pool and panted softly while watching the other dogs run around. Kodiak is social with the other dogs, and prefers a gentle-dainty group.”

We are now looking for a good home, adopter or foster we can pair with a rescue.
